Privacy Policy

I, Ramin Isayev (operating as “Ramin Labs”), am the developer of the Islamic StandBy: Quran Clock mobile application (the “App”). This page informs you of my policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use my App.

1. Information Collection and Use

Islamic StandBy: Quran Clock is designed as a focused application for displaying religious texts, providing a spiritual clock interface, and offering prayer-related utilities.

• Personal Data: I do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise real-time location.
• Approximate Location Data: If you enable the automatic GPS mode, the App accesses your device’s approximate location (Coarse Location). This data is processed locally on your device solely to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction. It is never sent to my servers, stored, or shared with third parties.
• Local Storage: All user preferences (such as theme, language settings, and manually selected cities) are stored locally on your device using Android DataStore and are not accessible by me.

2. Third-Party Services and APIs

While I do not collect your data directly, the App integrates third-party services and APIs for core functionality:

A. Google Play Services: The App uses services provided by Google which may collect information used to identify you (such as Device IDs, IP addresses, and crash logs for diagnostics and security):

• Google Play Services: Required for core app functionality.
• Google Play Billing Library: Used to process voluntary donations.
• Google Play Integrity API: Used to ensure the security and integrity of the App.

B. External API Connections: To provide real-time religious data, the App connects to the following external APIs. These connections are purely functional, and no personal identifiers are sent. However, these servers may temporarily process your IP address to complete the network request:

• Aladhan API: Used to synchronize Hijri calendar dates and verify prayer times.
• Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) API: Used in manual search mode to convert your manually typed city name into coordinates.
• Audio Hosting Providers: Used to stream Quran audio recitations for the built-in media player.

3. In-App Purchases (Donations)

The App offers the option to make voluntary donations via the Google Play Billing Library.

• Payment Processing: When you make a purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. I do not collect or store your credit card details or financial information.
• Transaction Data: Google may provide me with non-sensitive information about the transaction (such as a transaction ID and date) for the purpose of validating the purchase.

4. Permissions

To function properly, the App may request the following device permissions:

• Approximate Location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Required to automatically calculate prayer times and Qibla compass alignment based on your current city. You can refuse this permission and use the manual city search instead.
• Internet Access (INTERNET): Required to stream Quran audio, sync the Hijri calendar, and search for cities in manual mode.
• Notification Access: Used to deliver prayer time alerts (if enabled by the user).

The App does not request any highly sensitive permissions (such as access to your camera, microphone, precise location, contacts, or storage files).

5. Children’s Privacy

My App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the content is religious and educational, it is safe for all audiences.

6. Hardware and Screen Usage Disclaimer

The App is designed to keep the screen active for extended periods to display religious content and clock interfaces.

• OLED/AMOLED Screens: While the App includes an “OLED Screen Protection” feature to minimize risks, the User acknowledges that prolonged display of static elements on OLED/AMOLED screens carries an inherent risk of permanent image retention (“burn-in”).
• Limitation of Liability: The Developer provides the App “as is” and shall not be held liable for any hardware damage, including but not limited to screen burn-in, pixel degradation, or accelerated battery wear, resulting from the use of the App. By using the App, you agree to assume all responsibility for the usage and maintenance of your device’s hardware.

7. Data Deletion

Since the App does not require user accounts, I do not store your personal information on any external servers.

• Local Data: You can delete all your local preferences and settings at any time by clearing the App’s cache/data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
• Transaction Data: If you wish to request the deletion of any transaction-related information provided to me by Google Play (such as transaction IDs), please contact me at ramin.isayev.dev@gmail.com. I will process your request within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update my Privacy Policy from time to time. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
